Wadi Degla announce four new summer signings
Wadi Degla have announced the signings of Mohamed Abdel Monsef and three more players to boost next season’s Premier League top four chances.
The 40-year-old goalkeeper has joined Wadi Degla on a free transfer after Petroleum club ENPPI and the player mutually terminated their contract. He is set to replace Essam El-Hadary, who joined Saudi Arabian side Al Taawoun on a one-year contract.
The former Zamalek goalkeeper spent five years at ENPPI, making 83 appearances for them, but his chances were limited last season as he was the club’s substitute goalkeeper.
Mido’s second summer recruit is former Ismaily full-back Ahmed Samir, who joined from Zamalek. The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Al Masry, but made only six appearances for them.
Degla have also managed to sign Ahmed Magdi and Ahmed El-Shennawy from Entag El-Harby and Petrojet respectively. Magdi was on loan at Saudi side Al-Wahda last season and made 12 appearances for them as they were relegated after finishing bottom of the table, while El-Shennawy helped his former side finishing 10th in the Egyptian Premier League.
