EFA assign foreign referees for Cairo Derby, reveal new season start date
The Egyptian Football Federation (EFA) have decided to assign foreign referees for the Cairo Derby, which will take place this July.
League champions Al Ahly will host their arch-rivals Zamalek in the 34th round of the Egyptian Premier League on Monday, July 17, and the EFA have revealed that the Cairo Derby will be refereed by foreign referees.
The EFA have also confirmed that the 2017/18 season of the Egyptian Premier League will commence on Sunday, September 9 after the national team’s encounter with Uganda in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Lastly, they decided to allow the registration of 30 players on each list for every club, after they first allowed the clubs to only register 25 players.
