Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Ahmad Ahmad made it clear that there is no intention to move the confederation’s headquarters from Cairo.

Ahmad who was elected as CAF president mid-March after beating Issa Hayatou, assured during his recent visit to the South African Football Association (SAFA) in Johannesburg that relocation CAF’s headquarters is not part of his agenda after the recent news and talks about this issue.

“The reasons for taking the CAF Headquarters to Egypt were taken by the pioneers of African football and they decided to have it in ancient Egypt. I don’t see the reason for taking away the CAF Headquarters from Egypt,” Ahmad echoed what the Egyptian FA confirmed a while ago regarding this issue.

The Malagasy thanked Egypt back when he was elected for its federation’s vote and revealed that the EFA President  played a crucial role in his election.

In addition to being a hardcore football fan, Abdelrahman is a communications enthusiast who works in marketing, advertising, content creation and PR.
