Liverpool teammate praises Mohamed Salah
Liverpool defender Joe Gomez expressed his excitement for the prospect of playing alongside Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah starting next season.
Salah joined the Reds from Serie A runners-up Roma on a long-term deal, becoming the club’s record signing as well as the most expensive African player in history, a deal that was positively backed by former Liverpool players like Luis Garcia, Patrik Berger, Sami Hyypia, Craig Bellamy and Paul Ince.
“Obviously he’s a top player and that’s one of the things that comes with playing for a top club like this, you’re playing with top players each and every day,” Gomez told Liverpool’s official website when asked about the Reds’ new signing.
Momo recently joined Liverpool’s pre-season training but won’t be available for the club’s first pre-season friendly against Tranmere Rovers due to immigration rules as confirmed by the club’s coach. It’s unclear whether the issue will be resolved before Liverpool’s second pre-season friendly against Wigan Athletic on Friday.
