Ahmed Hossam Mido: Proud to be banned
Wadi Degla FC’s coach, Ahmed Hossam Mido, states that he is proud to be banned, following for his comments on the EFA.
Wadi Degla was lost 4-1 to Premier League champions Al-Ahly in the quarterfinals of Egypt Cup.
In the post-match conference, Mido attacked the Egyptian Football Federation after changing the Egypt Cup match date.
As a result, the 34-year-old was slammed with a 6-match-ban from the EFA, to which he responded with a tweet stating that he is proud to be banned after defending the Egyptian football and standing up for the national team.
فخور بايقافي الذي تعلموا جميعا انه بسبب مواجهتي لاتحاد الكرة وما قلته بعد المباراة..فخور بايقافي بسبب دفاعي عن مصلحة الكرة المصرية

On the other hand, the EFA released a statement stating that Mido was banned 6 games and fined ten thousand EGP after his inappropriate signs and gestures towards Al Ahly fans.
Mido was previously banned for 4 games by the EFA last November after clashing with the referees during the halftime of Wadi Degla’s match against Zamalek.
Moreover, he was fined twenty thousand EGP last May after his comments on the referee in his team’s match against Al Masry
