OFFICIAL: Ibrahim Abdel-Khalek rejoins Zamalek
Zamalek have announced on Wednesday that Ibrahim Abdel-Khalek has rejoined the club following the end of his loan spell at Arab Contractors.
The 31-year-old midfielder joined the White Castle from Smouha in 2015 after spending five years at the Alexandrian club. He then joined Wadi Degla on loan in August 2016, but the agreement was canceled by mutual consent of all three parties.
The former Smouha midfielder was loaned again by parent club Zamalek to play the second half of the season at the Arab Contractors.
Tough competition from teammates Mahmoud Abdel-Razik ‘Shikabala’ and Mostafa Fathi along with the lack of playing time had forced the midfielder to leave to Degla and Contractors on loan, before rejoining the Cairo giants on a three-year deal.
Earlier this month, Fathi joined Saudi Arabian side Al Taawoun on a one-year loan deal with an option to buy.
Abdel-Khalek’s return comes one day after Zamalek announced that Hazem Emam has rejoined the White Castle following the end of his loan spell at Ittihad of Alexandria.
