El-Badry names Al Ahly squad for Cairo derby



Al Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry has named a 23-man squad for the against , which is scheduled to be held on Monday at Borg El-Arab Stadium.

The squad witnessed the exclusion of defender Ahmed Hegazy who is currently in London ahead of finalising a move to West Bromwich Albion on a season-long loan.

Al Ahly winger Ahmed Hamoudi was also ruled out of the derby after he picked up an injury during Al Ahly’s CAF Champions League group stages match against Zanaco in Zambia which ended in a 0-0 draw.

The list saw the inclusion of Saleh Gomaa and Momen Zakaria after they have recovered from injuries.

Al Ahly squad:

Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekramy, Ahmed Adel Abdel-Moneim, Mohamed El-Shennawy

Defenders: Saad Samir, Mohamed Naguib, Ramy Rabia, Mohamed Hany, Bassem Ali, Ali Maaloul, Ahmed Fathi, Sabry Raheel

Midfielder: Hossam Ghaly, Amr El-Sulaya, Hossam Ashour, Karim Nedved, Abdallah El-Said, Saleh Gomaa, Momen Zakaria, Walid Soliman, Mido Gaber

Forwards: Emad Meteb, Amr Gamal, Junior Ajayi

Al Ahly, who secured the league title four weeks before its end, will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run in the league this season when they face the White Knights in the final league fixture. Meanwhile, Zamalek sit third on the league table with 66 points.
