Sobhi plays 45 minutes as Stoke lose 4-2 to Monaco
Ramadan Sobhi played 45 minutes from the start for Stoke in a preseason friendly against Monaco that took place in Martigny.
Monaco got off to the quicker start and had control of the game, but it was Stoke who would score the opening goal. It was Saido Berahino with the tap in to score the goal off of a rebound, but the inital play came through Xherdan Shaqiri and Sobhi’s left hand side.
Monaco would equalize shortly after through a Fabinho penalty, and Allan Saint-Maximin gave Monaco the lead just 5 minutes later. Sobhi came off at halftime and Mame Biram Diouf leveled the scoring after the break with a lovely chipped shot after being sent in on goal.
The match went back and forth but in the span of a few minutes, Monaco were able to score the 3rd and 4th goals through Falcao and N’Doram.
Stoke continue their preseason action in 10 days time, when they return to England to face Sheffield United.
