Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren supported the signing of Egyptian winger and praised his potentials after the team’s draw against Wigan Athletic.

Mohamed Salah was able to score on his debut as Liverpool played out a 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic in their second pre-season game on Friday.

Lovren, who joined the Reds in 2014 coming from Southampton, assured that Salah can always help the team solve their offensive issues, as the team was crippled last season after losing Sadio Mane to the African Cup of Nations who then suffered a knee injury in April. This in addition to Daniel Sturridge’s injury that ruled him out for two months.

“We saw Salah on Friday and we will see more of his qualities. He needs more time as he’s only had six days with us and everything is completely new, but I think he will be perfect in this system,” Lovren explained.

The defender praised Salah’s deal and thinks that he and England Under-20 World Cup winner Dominic Solanke can play well together. “I think Jurgen Klopp made a good choice. These guys work really hard on the pitch and in training so it is always good to welcome such players like these,” he added.

The 25-year-old winger, who joined the Reds on a five-year contract, will be joining his team as they face Crystal Palace on July 19 in the Premier League Asia Trophy that will take place in Hong Kong.
