EXCLUSIVE | Egypt’s Aly Ghazal mutually terminates Guizhou Zhicheng contract
Egypt’s Aly Ghazal has mutually terminated his contract with Chinese Super League club Guizhou Zhicheng.
KingFut can confirm Aly Ghazal has come to an agreement with his club over his departure following a rough 5-month spell since his move to China.
Ghazal, 25, joined the recently promoted outfits last window but failed to get much game-time after the change in Super League regulations.
Once Ghazal joined, a new rule was passed, that of the five foreign players in each team, only three were to be registered in the matchday squad.
This was coupled with the club’s decision to sign Mario Suarez from Watford and Ruben Castro from Real Betis over the past two weeks, bringing the club over the foreign players’ quota.
In addition, the club underwent a managerial change following Ghazal’s arrival with Gregorio Manzano taking helm.
The former Nacional defensive midfielder failed to record any official minutes on the pitch in the league, while appearing in the team’s FA Cup defeat.
The club is still one player over the foreign quota limit and KingFut understands it will be Kenya international Michael Olunga out of the door next.
