El-Badry thanks players after derby win
Al Ahly head coach Hossam El-Badry congratulated his players after finishing the league with 84 points and without any losses.
The Red Devils were able to win the Cairo derby as they defeated Zamalek 2-0 in the last match of the Egyptian Premier League. El-Badry’s men did not lose any match in the league and only conceded 14 goals with 23 clean sheets.
“Zamalek is a strong team and defeating them was important to me,” the coach told DMC TV channel. “It was a great end to a challenging season that witnessed a lot of sacrifices.”
The former Al Ahly player and current coach pointed out the difficulties that the team faced this season represented in a number of injured players in addition to not having enough time to rest between matches and praised his players for surpassing all of these challenges.
“Finishing the championship without any losses is a huge achievement that translates the great efforts that were made through the season,” he added.
El-Badry concluded by thanking all his players and the board for their continuous support assuring that all his demands during the season were always met.
It is worth mentioning that the coach will not be leading his team during the first match of the Arab Championship against Al-Faisaly SC for family-related reasons.
