Junior Ajayi pleased with Al Ahly win over Zamalek
Nigerian striker Junior Ajayi expressed his happiness after Al Ahly defeated Zamalek in the final match of the Egyptian Premier League.
Al Ahly managed to beat Zamalek 2-0 in the last match of the league. Ajayi scored his team’s second goal in the dying minutes of the game ending the White Knights’ hopes for a late equalizer.
“I am happy that we defeated Zamalek and performed well,” he told ON Sport TV channel. “Yet, we missed a few chances that could’ve helped us finish the match with a huge win.”
The Red Devils maintained high pressure during the game and were close to doubling the score but Ajayi and his teammates failed to translate their efforts into goals.
Regarding his current situation with the club, Ajayi assured that he is not thinking about leaving Al Ahly. “I don’t know what will happen in the future but all that I know is that I am happy with Al Ahly,” the 21-year-old added. “I am in one of the best clubs in the world and play with amazing and special players in the continent. I have a number of offers of course but I am not thinking about them.”
