Al Ahly football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz assured that Al Ahly received an offer from Bidvest Wits to sign the club’s striker Amr Gamal.

KingFut exclusively confirmed earlier this month that the South African side contacted the Red Devils to enquire about the possibility of signing the young striker this Summer after he impressed Bidvest Wits when they met the Reds last March.

Last summer, Dutch club AZ Alkmaar were keen to sign Amr Gamal but didn’t submit an official bid. He also received an offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Fateh SC and was linked with French side Toulouse and Switzerland’s Grasshoppers in 2014.

“We received an offer from Bidvest Wits to sign Amr Gamal,” Abdel-Hafiz told DMC TV channel. “He is a special player and in general, we study any offers we receive and see how they fit the club and the player.”

Abdel-Hafiz also spoke about Mido Gaber’s situation with the club after news circulating that he might be leaving the team soon dispute not being given enough game time.

“The staff will sit together with head coach Hossam El-Badry and discuss each position and look at our current players and see which players will have good chances of playing and which players will not be given enough game time,” he explained. “After that, we decide who stays with the team and who leaves, and that’s the situation now with Mido Gaber.”

In addition to being a hardcore football fan, Abdelrahman is a communications enthusiast who works in marketing, advertising, content creation and PR.
