Mohareb included as Al Ahly announce squad for Arab Championship

Al Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry has announced the team’s squad which will take part in the 2017 Arab Club Championship.

The Red Devils were drawn into group A alongside Algeria’s NA Hussein Dey, Al-Faisaly of Jordan, and United Arab Emirates’ Al-Wahda. They will kick-off their campaign against the Jordanian side on the 22nd of July, before facing Al-Wahda and NA Hussein Dey on the 25th and 28th respectively.

El-Badry has decided to include new signings Walid Azarou and Islam Mohareb, who joined from DHJ and Smouha respectively, as well as the league’s top scorer Ahmed El-Sheikh, who returned from his loan spell with Misr El-Makasa.

The squad also saw the inclusion of youngsters Omar Radwan, Ahmed Ramadan ‘Beckham’, Ahmed Yasser Rayan, and Ahmed Hamdi. Walid Soliman was the only noticeable omission from the squad after picking up an injury during the Cairo Derby.

Al Ahly Squad:

Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekramy, Ahmed Adel, Mohamed El-Shennawy, Omar Wael Radwan.

Defenders: Ahmed Fathi, Mohamed Hany, Ali Maaloul, Saad Samir, Mohamed Naguib, Sabry Rahil, Hussein El-Sayed, Rami Rabia, Bassem Ali, Ahmed Hamdi.

Midfielders: Hossam Ashour, Hossam Ghaly, Amr El-Sulaya, Abdallah El-Said, Momen Zakaria, Karim Nedved, Saleh Gomaa, Mido Gaber, Ahmed Hamoudi, Ahmed Ramadan ‘Beckham’, Akram Tawfik, Amr Barakat, Islam Mohareb, Ahmed El-Sheikh.

Forwards: Junior Ajayi, Amr Gamal, Emad Meteb, Ahmed Yasser Rayan, Walid Azarou.
