Joel Matip on Salah: I’m sure his quality will help us
Cameroon international Joel Matip feels that his fellow African teammate at Anfield, Mohamed Salah, will be difficult for Premier League defenders to deal with.
The 25-year-old centre-back claims that he is relieved from the fact that he won’t have to face Salah, besides their training sessions together this season.
Matip said, “It’s nice to see that he is on my team! I think we will have a lot of fun with him in this season.”
“I think I’ve had a little bit of luck in training so far because he’s always been on my team. I haven’t had to run after him yet! There is a lot of pace…”, he added. “He has a lot of quality and that will help us. I’m sure about this.”
Salah has been impressive in the Reds’ Premier League Asia Tour in Hong Kong, as the Egyptian managed to score in two of his first three matches with Liverpool and has proved himself as a valuable addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Salah’s Liverpool has currently finished their pre-season tour in Asia, winning the friendly trophy, and are set to depart back to the UK to await the start of their PL campaign.
