Ramadan Sobhi assists as Stoke lose 2-1 to Sheffield United
Ramadan Sobhi assisted a goal as Stoke City lost 2-1 to Sheffield United in a pre-season friendly Tuesday night.
Ramadan Sobhi started in a front three alongside Saido Berahino and Xherdan Shaqiri. New Stoke City loan signing Kurt Zouma made his debut as well.
In the tenth minute Sheffield striker Billy Sharp scored after a defensive mistake by Ryan Shawcross.
Stoke equalized ten minutes before half-time as Ramadan played a through ball to Shaqiri, who scored on a first time shot past the Sheffield United goalkeeper.

The match was relatively dull until the final few minutes, when United began to bombard Stoke with shots, many of which were blocked. Midfielder David Brooks finally found the net in the 89th minute.
Sobhi played the full 90 minutes against United, getting his first assist or goal this preseason. This marks the second loss of Stoke’s pre-season preparation for the 2017/18 Premier League, having previously lost 4-2 to Monaco.
Stoke’s next game is against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday in another pre-season friendly.
