EXCLUSIVE | Smouha target Abbas Amidu set for Saudi Arabia move
CAPS United star Abbas Amidu is set to join a club in the Saudi Professional League.
27-year-old forward Abbas Amidu is set to join Saudi Professional League outfits Al-Fateh after coming to an agreement with CAPS United.
KingFut sources confirm that CAPS agreed to sell the player yesterday, with the parties set to have a meeting with the club president tonight.
Having been heavily linked with Smouha, the player is set to be Al-Fateh’s sixth and final foreign player on their books.
Amidu broke into the scene after scoring a double for CAPS United as they crushed Zamalek in the CAF Champions League group stages a few weeks ago, coming out as 3-1 winners in Zimbabwe.
Amidu’s solitary strike was not enough to help CAPS one week later as they succumbed to a 4-1 defeat against Algeria’s USM Algers, and subsequently crashed out of the group stages.
The player is a permanent fixture in Zimbabwe’s locals’ national team squad. He also had previous experiences at Kaizer Chiefs, Black Leopards as well as a stint in UAE’s Masafi Sports Club.
