Ahmed Kaboria has joined Zamalek from Egyptian Premier League side Al Masry on a three-year deal, pending official announcement from the club.

The 29-year-old midfielder, who joined the Port Said-based side from Misr El-Maqassa in 2015, shone during his two seasons with Al Masry before completing his move to the Cairo giants.

He scored five goals for Al Masry in the 2016/17 season, which saw the Port Said-based club finish fourth in the league, and qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup. He also featured for the club in the 2016/17 Confederation Cup before they were eliminated from the round of 32.

Kaboria signed a three-year contract with the White Knights keeping him at the club until the summer of 2020 for a reported fee of EGP 8 million.

Zamalek, who are looking to strengthen their squad after a disappointing season that saw the club finish third in the league and exit the CAF Champions League, have already secured the services of striker Salah Ashour from ENPPI, Ahmed Daouda from Misr El-Maqassa and completed the signing of Benjamin Acheampong and Kabongo Kasongo.
