Official: Amro Tarek joins Smouha on free transfer

SmouhaSmouha have completed the signing of defender Amro Tarek on a free transfer following the termination of his contract with ENPPI.

The 25-year-old was close to completing a move to Zamalek, with Misr El-Maqassa also expressing an interest in the former ENPPI defender, before Smouha club chairman Farag Amer announced sealing the deal on Friday.

This comes few days after the Alexandria-based club announced the appointment of Czech manager František Straka as the club’s head coach.

Amro Tarek started his youth career with Assiut Cement and ENPPI before moving to Germany where he played for Magdeburg U19 and then had spells with Freiburg and Wolfsburg reserves. He then returned back to Egypt in 2013 to play for El-Gouna SC for two years.

In 2015, he signed for the La Liga new boys Real Betis but failed to play a single minute in their La Liga campaign, before he was loaned for MLS side Columbus Crew.

Tarek returned back to Egypt last season, where he represented ENPPI after terminating his contract with Ismaily, without playing a single game.
