REPORT: Galatasaray interested in signing Elneny on loan
Reports have surfaced that Turkish side Galatasaray want Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny on loan, with talks being held through intermediaries.
As first broken by Turkish media outlet Fotosport, Galatasaray hasn’t made any official offer to Arsenal over Mohamed Elneny yet and at the same time, the talks are still at their beginning stages.
The Turkish team is now searching for a center midfielder to sign and Egypt’s Mohamed Elneny is on the shortlist. Other reports have surfaced linking Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini away from his club, and Galatasaray Sporting Director Cenk Ergun confirmed his club’s interest in the Belgian.
Ergun had earlier been thought to be in London, but a Turkish-Football source now states Ergun was in France negotiating a deal for the Algerian winger Sofiane Feghouli.
The plan for Galatasaray is to have Elneny on a loan from Arsenal, not on a permanent deal, and they reportedly will soon send an inquiry to know his availability and price.
The 25-year-old still has three years left on his contract with Arsenal and is currently on Arsenal’s preseason tour.
