Marei: I’m looking forward to winning trophies with ESS
Tunisian club Étoile Sportive du Sahel held a press conference on Saturday to officially present their new signings in Sousse.
The club’s newest recruits include Egyptian Striker Amr Marei, who joined from ENPPI, Omar Zekri, Mohamed Konate, Jacques Mpe, and Amine Chermiti, who rejoined the club for a second spell.
“The club has made a great effort to get me and negotiate the deal. I gave them my word to sign for ESS,’’ Marei told ESS’ official website on Saturday.
“I am looking forward to winning many trophies here starting with the CAF Champions league this year. I thank everyone for this great reception,’’ he continued.
Marei was then questioned about the difference between football in Egypt and Tunisia, replying: “I think there is no big difference between here and Egypt. The most important thing is to be fully responsible and committed to the team to make the fans happy,’’ he concluded.
The Egypt international has scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 29 league appearances for ENPPI this season, making him the Egyptian Premier League’s sixth top goalscorer.
