Hegazi features in West Brom’s friendly draw with Port Vale

Port Vale

Egypt international Ahmed Hegazi played 47 minutes in West Bromwich’s friendly draw with League Two side Port Vale on Tuesday.

Al Ahly loanee Hegazi started the match and was an integral part to West Bromwich’s defense, helping them keep a clean sheet in the first half before he was substituted off in the 47th minute for academy player Dara O’Shea.

The cagey performance from both sides dominated the first-half, but two minutes before half-time, Hal Robson-Kanu took advantage of a defensive mistake and opened the scoreline for the Baggies.

Early in the second half, many changes were made as many academy players were given an opportunity to play and they were close to give Tony Pulis his third pre-season win, but Port Vale equalized through Tom Pope whose late header shared the spoils at Vale Park.

West Brom will complete their pre-season preparations on Saturday, August 5 when they face Spanish side Deportivo de La Coruña at Estadio Riazor.
