Liverpool’s strong preseason form continued with a solid 3-0 victory over German champions Bayern Munich in the Audi Cup.

Whilst Bayern had the great majority of possession, it was Liverpool who looked the most threatening on the counter. Mane opened the scoring within ten minutes, with a cool finish into the side netting.

Salah had a good chance saved by Ulreich immediately after, only for him to double Liverpool’s lead on 33 minutes. Alberto Moreno’s shot was well saved by Ulreich, however Salah headed in the rebound from close range. This was Salah’s fourth goal in preseason so far.

After the break, Liverpool substituted Salah on 66 minutes for youngster Marko Grujic. The Serbian then had a goal disallowed when his shot found the bottom corner, only for Lallana to have interfered with play from an offside position.

A late Liverpool counter-attack added salt to Bayern’s wounds, following a fantastic chip by Daniel Sturridge.

Liverpool now face Atletico Madrid in the final of the Audi Cup tomorrow.
