El Sherbini stays at World No.1 for 16th successive month
Egypt’s Nour El Sherbini has retained her position at the top of the PSA Women’s World Rankings, while compatriot Karim Abdel-Gawad has maintained his second place in the men’s ranking.
Two-time World Champion El Sherbini, 21, maintained her No.1 position for the 16th month in a row, sitting ahead of compatriot Raneem El Welily. Egypt’s World Junior Champion Nouran Gohar remain in fifth place, while Egypt’s former World No.5 Nour El Tayeb now sit at No.11.
Meanwhile, the latest Men’s World Rankings, which was topped with Frenchman Gregory Gaultier for a third successive month, has featured seven Pharaohs in the top 10, with Abdel-Gawad and Mohamed El Shorbagy, sitting second and third respectively. Fifth-placed Ali Farag also maintained his position in the August rankings.
Other Pharaohs who finished outside the top five were seventh-placed Marwan El Shorbagy, followed by Ramy Ashour, Tarek Momen and Fares Dessouky.
