Egypt international Mohamed Salah played 45 minutes as Liverpool defeated Athletic Bilbao 3-1 in their final pre-season friendly on Saturday.

The 25-year-old winger featured for the Reds against the Spanish side after being rested in their previous friendly against Atletico Madrid in the Audi Cup final.

Liverpool managed to open the scoring in the 21st minute, as Roberto Firmino sent the ball home from the spot making it one nil for the Reds at Aviva Stadium.

Just nine minutes later,  Inaki Williams scored the equaliser for Athletic Bilbao as he placed the ball past Simon Mignolet.

Both teams failed to score further goals until the referee blew the halftime whistle with the score level at 1-1.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp changed most of his outfield players during the second half, with Ryan Kent coming on to replace Salah after the break. Salah

The Reds managed to regain the lead as Benjamin Woodburn placed the ball in the back of the net around the one-hour mark.

Just ten minutes before the full-time whistle, youngster Dominic Solanke scored Liverpool’s third goal, making it 3-1.

The Reds will head next to Vicarage Road to face Watford on August 12 to kick-off their new Premier League campaign.

Mohammed Salama is a 20-year-old who fell in love with football since Egypt's AFCON final match against Ivory Coast! Strangely enough an Al Ahly and Al Masry fan locally. In addition, he's a hardcore Bayern Munich supporter.
