Algeria’s Rachid Ghezzal completes Monaco move
Algeria international Rachid Ghezzal has been officially announced as a new AS Monaco player, joining Les Rouges et Blancs as a free agent.
The 25-year-old Algerian left Olympique Lyonnais at the end of his contract after spending almost 13 years with the club between the youth sector sides and first team.
In June 2017, Lyon announced that they will not renew the winger’s contract which expired on June 31. He joined the reigning French champions on a four-year deal.
The Algeria international winger had a fine season with Lyon, recording three goals and seven assists in 38 outings.
Ghezzal will be looking to help Monaco defend their Ligue 1 title but they are expected to face a stiff competition, especially from Paris-Saint Germain who have just completed ‘The Deal Of the Century’ after signing Neymar from Barcelona.
