EXCLUSIVE: Hossam Ghaly informs Al Ahly of decision to join Al Nassr
Al Ahly legend Hossam Ghaly has informed the club of his decision to join Saudi Arabia outfits Al Nassr this transfer window.
Thirty-five-year-old midfielder Hossam Ghaly is set to depart to Riyadh-based club Al Nassr after accepting a mega-offer from the club.
Ghaly will join Al Nassr on a free transfer, despite renewing his contract with Al Ahly a few weeks ago, the club have not yet registered his contract in the Egyptian Football Association database which makes him free to leave.
Kingfut understands that Ghaly has decided to keep any announcement regarding the matter until after Al Ahly Egypt Cup semi-final against Smouha on Wednesday night, with the player expected to make his move official early next week.
The former Feyenoord & Tottenham Hotspur player is set to return to the club which he wore their colours back in 2009.
The former Egypt international previously stated he’ll retire with the Red Devils but it may now not be the case.
Ghaly will pocket a sum of around $850,000 during his one-year contract in Saudi Arabia, a sum equivalent to 15 million Egyptian pounds; which is just above triple of what he makes per year in Egypt.
It is worth mentioning how tense Ghaly’s relationship with the coaching staff and his teammates has been recently after he went into an open argument with Hossam El-Badry during the team’s clash against Al Masry, while being fined by the club after a training session showdown with Ahmed Fathi.
