OFFICIAL: Algeria international Boudebouz joins Real Betis
Algeria international Ryad Boudebouz has completed his move to La Liga side Real Betis from Montpellier HSC on a four-year deal.
The 27-year-old has joined Real Betis for a reported fee of €7million and he is expected to fill the void left by the departure of Dani Ceballos, who joined Real Madrid last month.
Boudebouz scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in 33 appearances for Montpellier last season, helping them avoid relegation from Ligue 1.
“It is a great step for me to arrive at such an iconic club,” Boudebouz told the club’s official website.
“Because of my playing style, I have wanted to play in Spain since I was little. For me, it’s a huge step to progress with this club.
“It’s a club with a huge fandom, you always want to watch Betis games. Betis has won important trophies, one league and two cups.
“I’m in a moment in my career in which I want to evolve, I’m eager. I want to achieve things and I think I can play at a higher level here. I’m sure I can make it here at Betis. I can reach a much higher level,” he added.
He becomes the club’s eighth arrival of the summer following deals for Sergio Leon, Victor Camarasa, Andres Guardado, Zouhair Feddal, Jordi Amat, Antonio Barragan and Cristian Tello.
