Hossam Hassan delighted after reaching Egypt Cup final
Hossam Hassan was one happy coach after his side Al Masry struck two late goals against Zamalek to qualify for the Egypt Cup final.
Zamalek have failed to reach the Egypt Cup final for the first time in six years after losing 2-0 to Al Masry, whom their manager revealed his delight after the game.
“We won against a big team with a huge fan-base and one of the best player squads in the country, but this is how the cup games go,” Hassan told DMC Sports.
The Port Said-based will face the winner of the encounter between Al Ahly and Smouha, hoping to win their first trophy since 1998, when they defeated Arab Contractors 4-3 in the Cup final.
“We worked really hard to get this huge win over Zamalek and reach the final. I also want to say that Zamalek were very unlucky tonight,” Hassan continued.
“All what we were thinking about was this game. Now I can say that it is a huge honour to participate in the cup final, we’ll wait to see who the other finalist will turn out to be and we will make sure to do our best in that game for the club and the fans,” he added.
