Zamalek chairman Mortada Mansour has denied reaching an agreement with Ehab Galal and revealed that he’s considering three foreign candidates for the head coaching position.

The Cairo giants are looking for a replacement for Portuguese coach Augusto Inacio, who was sacked two weeks ago, with former Zamalek player Tarek Yehia being appointed as an interim manager.

Zamalek have been linked with former Misr El-Maqassa boss Ehab Galal, who left the Fayoum-based club earlier this month after guiding them to a second-place finish in the 2016/17 season. However, Mansour dismissed these claims.

“We haven’t reached any agreement with Ehab Galal, all the rumors that link him with the club are false,” Mansour said on Wednesday.

“We are currently considering three foreign managers and we are going to choose one of them to take over,” Mansour added.

Multiple reports have suggested that former England and Manchester City manager Sven-Göran Eriksson is one of the three candidates, with the 69-year-old coach confirming his agent was contacted by Zamalek to inquire about his services.

Kingfut understands that Ex-Anderlecht and Sporting Lisbon manager Frank Vercauterenm, 60, is also on this list, with the Belgian manager arriving in Egypt to negotiate with the White Castle.

Zamalek ended their season empty-handed after they were eliminated from the group stage of the CAF Champions League and the Arab Club Championship.

They also finished third in the Egyptian Premier League standings, and were most recently knocked out of the Egypt Cup after losing 2-0 to Al Masry in the semi-final on Tuesday.
