Egypt will host Congo in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on October 8 at Borg El-Arab Stadium, the Egyptian Football Association announced on Thursday.

The Pharaohs, who are in a bid to make their first World Cup appearance since 1990, currently top Group E of the qualifiers after beating Congo away 2-1 and earning a 2-0 victory over Ghana.

They have six points, two above second-placed Uganda and five more than Ghana. Meanwhile, Congo languish at the bottom of the group with no points.

Egypt’s next two games will be against Uganda, as the Pharaohs will travel to Kampala to face the Cranes on August 31 before hosting them on September 5 at Borg El-Arab Stadium.

The Pharaohs will host Congo’s Red Devils in Alexandria on October 8, with kick off scheduled for 19:00 CLT. Egypt will then travel to face Ghana in the final round of the qualifiers in November.
