Aly Ghazal: Whitecaps surrounded by a great atmosphere

Egypt international Aly Ghazal has admitted that the atmosphere around Vancouver Whitecaps was one of the motives that pushed him to join the club.

Vancouver Whitecaps has confirmed the signing of Aly Ghazal on a free transfer after the player rescinded his contract with Chinese side Hengfeng Zhicheng by mutual consent, which was exclusively revealed by KingFut.

The 25-year-old midfielder joined Zhicheng in January but his spell at China did not last long, with the player leaving in the ongoing summer transfer window.

“When I left China, I had different options to consider but the decision was made easier after speaking with manager Robinson, felt his big trust in my game as well as how it would suit Vancouver’s style of play and this was a very important factor,” Ghazal told Vancouver Whitecaps official website.

“I also did my own research and what attracted me even more to Vancouver was the great atmosphere around the club and the supporters. I am very much looking forward to this exciting opportunity to play in Major League Soccer for a quality club,” he added.

Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson praised Ghazal, describing him as a “top midfield player” who is comfortable on the ball and strong defensively.

“He fits into the way we want to play, has a lot of experience at a great age, and brings leadership qualities. We are looking forward to welcoming Aly to our club and city,” Robinson said.
