El-Badry names three new players in CAF Champions League squad
Al Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry has named the three new players who will be registered in his side’s CAF Champions League squad.

Eight-time winners Al Ahly will be up against Espérance Sportive de Tunis in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League at home between 15 and 17 September, before facing them a week later in Tunisia.

The Reds qualified to the quarter-finals after finishing second in their group, which included Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca, Zanaco of Zambia and Cameroon’s Coton Sport.

El-Badry has decided to add Egyptian Premier League top scorer Ahmed El-Sheikh, who returned from his loan spell at Misr El-Maqqassa, and new signings Hesham Mohamed and Walid Azarou, who joined from Misr El-Maqqassa and DHJ respectively.

Meanwhile, new signings Islam Mohareb and Ayman Ashraf couldn’t be registered by Al Ahly in their CAF Champions League squad as they played for Smouha in this season’s Confederation Cup.

It is worth mentioning that Al Ahly is the only Egyptian club remaining in African competitions after Zamalek, Smouha and Al Masry were knocked out of the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.
