The second round of the EFL Cup will witness a clash between two Egyptian players as Aston Villa have been drawn against Wigan Athletic.

Arsenal, who have Mohamed Elneny in their ranks, and Salah’s Liverpool will not play the second round of the League cup as both teams have automatically qualified to the next round, due to their participation in the European competitions.

On the other hand, Ahmed Elmohamady, who has recently joined Aston Villa, will face Wigan Athletic, whom their captain is Egypt’s Sam Morsy, at the Villa Park.

Ramadan Sobhi’s Stoke City had an easy draw as the Potters were drawn against League One side Rochdale at home.

Finally, Ahmed Hegazy’s first League Cup game will be up against League Two side Accrington Stanley, who beat Championship side Preston North End in the first round. The tie will be played at Accrington’s stadium, the Crown Ground.

The matches will take place week commencing 21st August with a date and time to be confirmed in due course.
