Elneny: I am working hard to maintain Wenger confidence
Egypt International and Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny stated that he is working so hard to maintain his manager’s confidence and stay in the starting eleven.
Elneny played 67 minutes in Arsenal’s dramatic victory over Leicester City in the first Premier League match of the season.
In a post-match interview with beIN satellite channel the 25-year-old stated, “Thank God for the score. This victory will motivate us to keep fighting until the end; we have not won a first Premier League match in a while.”
“To be trailing in the score and comeback towards the end of the match to win is a great quality of our team.
“I am very happy to assist a goal and help my team win. I am working so hard for my family and to maintain my starting position in the team to fulfill my goals,” said Elneny.
On gaining Wenger’s confidence, the former Basel midfielder said, “it was obvious during the pre-season matches and day after day I show him that I deserve it. I can prove my qualities this season.”
The Gunners are set to face Ramadan Sobhi’s Stoke City on August 19 at 18:30 CLT in their second clash of the Premier League.
