Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson praised Mohamed Salah after he put on a great display on his return to the Premier League even though his team failed to see off an opening day victory.

The 25-year-old winger won his side a penalty before going on to score a goal of his own in Liverpool’s 3-3 away draw to Watford.

His Man-of-the-Match performance impressed his coach Jurgen Klopp who described his contribution on his first competitive debut as ‘fine’. The Egypt international also impressed his captain Jordan Henderson who had bigger words for Salah.

“He was brilliant and he’s been just like that since he came in. He’s been scoring goals, linking up with the other attackers and doing his defensive duties,” Henderson told Sky Sports in a post-match interview.

The Merseyside club next play Hoffenheim in the Champions League playoff round on Tuesday before facing Crystal Palace in their next Premier League match.

I have dedicated part of my time in this bad world to following African football. From CECAFA to WAFU, COSAFA to UNAF & even the forgotten UNIFFAC.
