Mohamed Elneny: I consider Arsenal as my home
Egypt international Mohamed Elneny expressed his happiness following Arsenal’s first win in the English Premier League this season.
Arsenal fought back from behind twice to grab a late 4-3 victory over Leicester City in a thrilling Premier League opener on Friday. Elneny played 67 minutes and took part in his team’s first goal sending a cross that was successfully translated by Lacazette.
“Winning was crucial after losing the opening fixture in many encounters during the past seasons,” he told Arsenal’s website. “After you win the first game in such style, this gives you such a push to continue the season in a very high spirit after turning tables around.”
Elneny was substituted in the second half for Aaron Ramsey since head coach Arsene Wenger was aiming to add more attacking players which eventually aided the Gunners’ comeback.
“I consider Arsenal as my home. I give all that I have to play in the starting 11 with the team and I’ll always keep improving to keep my spot,” the 25-year-old added. “I am happy with the boss’s confidence in my quality and I hope to deliver my best in all the games.”
The Gunners are set to face Ramadan Sobhi’s Stoke City on August 19 at 18:30 CLT in their second clash of the Premier League.
