Trezeguet impresses as Kasimpasa beat Alanyaspor in league opener
Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet scored for Kasimpasa as his side earned a 3-1 victory over Alanyaspor at Alanya Oba Stadium on Saturday.
The side that finished fifth in the league standings last season dominated the game, up until Markus Neumayr crossed the ball for Trezeguet to open the scoring by his striking header in the 36th minute.
Four minutes before the break, the Pharaoh was awarded a penalty that was converted by Neumayr to make it 0-2 for the visitors. But right before the end of the first half, Emre Akbaba reduced the deficit for the home team.
Alanyspor worked the second half with sheer dominance, forcing coach Kemal Ozdes to order his troops to park the bus and goalkeeper Ramazan Kose to make a couple of brilliant saves.
The Egypt international, who joined the Turkish side on loan during the summer transfer window, continued to shine in his defensive game, as he completed five successful tackles – better than any of his teammates.
While the home side lost all hope in the game, Kemal Ozdes’ brilliant substitutions made the difference as Bernard Mensah’s ball sent Samuel Edouk to score the third and finish the game 1-3.
After claiming an away victory in the league opener, Kasimpasa will face Besiktas in the second round of the Turkish Super Lig on Friday.
