VIDEO: Fathi scores as Al Hilal defeat Al-Taawoun

Al Hilal opened the scoring after just 14 minutes as Omar Khribin headed the ball into the back of the net of Egypt international goalkeeper .

Only seven minutes later, Hilal were already 2-0 up as Mohamed Al Burayk doubled the guests’ lead in the 21st minute.

Sierra Leone’s Alhaji Kamara pulled one back for the home side in the 26th minute. The scores were levelled 10 minutes ahead of the break as Fathi slotted the ball past Al Hilal’s keeper to score for the second game in a row.

Carlos Eduardo regained the lead for Al Hilal quickly through a strong accurate header in the 38th minute.

However, Hilal’s lead didn’t last long as Abdullah Al-Shammari converted an accurate cross from Fathi at the back of the net to make it 3-3 on stroke of halftime.

Eduardo completed his brace 10 minutes after the restart as he placed the ball past El-Hadary to help his side take the lead again.

Al-Taawoun’s next game will be away against Al-Fayha FC on September 16 in the third round of the league.
