OFFICIAL: ENPPI duo El-Shamy and Gomaa join Zamalek

Zamalek have signed ENPPI duo Mohamed El-Shamy and for an undisclosed fee, the Petroleum club have announced on Wednesday.

The duo were on loan last season at Al Masry and impressed for the latter in the Egypt Cup final, which they lost to Al Ahly 2-1 on Tuesday.

They emerged as a target for the Whites earlier in the summer due to the departure of Mostafa Fathi and Mahmoud Kahraba and the injury problems of Ayman Hefny and Mohamed Ibrahim.

El-Shamy,21, is a product of ENPPI youth sector and scored nine goals and provided two assists last term, guiding Al Masry to fourth place in the table as well as the Egypt Cup final.

Meanwhile Abdallah Gomaa, who is the younger brother of Al Ahly playmaker Saleh Gomaa, made 28 appearances last season, scoring two goals and assisting further four.

The 21-year-old had a short spell with FC Union Berlin in the German second division in 2014 and was also offered a trial period at Bundesliga side Werder Bremen in 2015.
