OFFICIAL: Hossam Paulo joins Ittihad of Alexandria on loan
Zamalek forward Hossam Paulo has joined Ittihad of Alexandria on a season-long loan, Zamalek chairman Mortada Mansour has revealed on Sunday.
The 33-year-old was Smouha’s top scorer in the Premier League last campaign before he joined Zamalek last January, but he struggled to continue his superb performance with the Whites. The Alexandria-based club is expected to pay the White Knights EGP 1.5 million for the one-year deal.
Before joining Zamalek in January 2017, Paulo made a name for himself being the Egyptian Premier League top scorer for two consecutive seasons, becoming the first player in Egypt’s history to do so with two different teams.
In less than one year, Paulo made 18 appearances with the Cairo giants scoring only three goals. Overall, he managed to score 48 goals in 106 appearances in the Egyptian Premier League with different sides.
He becomes the 13th player to depart the club this summer after Mostafa Fathi, Salah Rico, Mohamed Mossad, Ahmed Dewidar, Ramzy Khaled, Mohamed Salem, Ahmed Gafaar, Ahmed Samir, Emmanuel Mayuka, Stanley Ohawuchi, Mahmoud Kahraba, and Islam Gamal.
