Egypt beat Mexico in Volleyball Men’s U23 World Championship
Coming into the match, Egypt had beaten Japan in their first match before losing to both Cuba and Brazil. These results placed the Pharaohs in fifth place out of six with Brazil and Japan beating Cuba and Poland respectively just hours earlier.
On the other hand were Mexico, who were in the last place having lost all three of their previous games.
The Pharaohs opened the game with important 15-5 and 15-7 victories before Mexico brought a set back winning 15-13 to bring the overall score to 2-1 in favour of Egypt. The Pharaohs ended the game with 15-9 and 20-18 wins to win the match 4-1.
The result kept Egypt at fifth place with five points. If they win their next match against Poland on Wednesday they will advance to the 5-8th place playoffs.
