Goater: Salah must improve after poor Chelsea spell
Former Manchester City striker Shaun Goater talked about the Liverpool‘s record signing Mohamed Salah and his anticipated time at Anfield.
The 25-year-old joined the Reds from AS Roma this summer for £36.9million.
The Egyptian’s first Premier League spell with Chelsea did not go well as he only played 15 official games in two seasons and scored three goals.
“He was at Chelsea for a spell, went overseas. He’s now back at Liverpool, big-money signing, left-footed, predominantly left-footed, wants to cut in on his left foot,” Goater said on Sky Sports.
“I think teams will look and think ‘well okay, what are you going to do if I send you on your right foot? That probably is his strength at large, coming in off the line, links up really well, creates and gets a number of chances.”
He added, “His ratio needs to improve, being totally honest in regards to him, because he does get a lot of chances.”
Salah is included in Liverpool’s squad that is set to face Hoffenheim in the second leg of the UCL group stage qualifications tomorrow at 8:45 CLT.
