OFFICIAL: Zizo joins Portuguese side Moreirense FC
Primeira Liga outfit Moreirense have announced the signing of Egyptian midfielder Ahmed Sayed ‘Zizo’ from Lierse SK.
The 21-year-old Egyptian midfielder, who spent the second-half of last season on loan with CD Nacional, has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Moreirense, the Portuguese club have announced on Wednesday.
The Wadi Degla youth product made 13 appearances for CD Nacional last term, scoring two goals as his former side failed to avoid the drop and got relegated from the Primeira Liga.
Zizo joined Lierse in 2013 from Wadi Degla and made 77 appearances for the Belgian side, scoring five goals and providing 10 assists.
He becomes the second Egyptian player in the Portuguese league, joining Egypt international striker Ahmed Hassan ‘Kouka’, who currently plies his trade at Sporting Braga.
Moreirense beat the drop and stayed in the Primeira Liga after finishing 15th in the league table last season, just one point away from the relegation zone.
They have already played four league games this season and sit 16th with only two points. Their next game will be against Estoril Praia on Sunday, September 10 and the Egyptian could make his debut against them.
