Mortada confirms Mohamed Koffi will leave Zamalek this summer
Mortada has revealed earlier this week that his club will have to sell one of Moruf Yusuf or Mohamed Koffi this summer due to the excessive number of foreign players the club have and he has made a decision to sell the Burkinabé instead of the Nigerian.
Koffi spent the last season on loan at Saudi side Ettifaq following the accusations directed against him from Zamalek president Mortada Mansour claiming that he has faked an injury.
He made 26 appearances for Ettifaq, scoring twice as he helped his side to 8th place in the Saudi Professional League, before deciding against staying permanently in Saudi Arabia.
“We will not sell or loan out Moruf Yusuf. Mohamed Koffi is the one to leave the club,” Mortada Mansour said on Friday.
“Misr El-Maqassa, Al Masry, Tanta and a Kuwaiti side want him, but we haven’t made a decision yet on which team he will be offered to,” he added.
Moruf Yusuf joined the White Knights from fellow Egyptian side Ittihad El-Shorta in the summer of 2014 and since then he has played 111 matches for them, scoring five goals and assisting 11 times.
On the other hand Koffi joined Zamalek from Iraqi side Duhok in July 2014 and has made over 65 appearances for them, winning the Egyptian Premier League in his first season as well as lifting two Egypt Cups titles.
