El-Hadary: We will not give up on the World Cup dream

’s goalkeeper has revealed he was injured after the first-half of the Uganda game in Kampala in the World Cup qualifiers. 

The Pharaohs claimed a tough 1-0 victory over Uganda on Tuesday, less than a week after they fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat in Kampala.

The veteran keeper revealed that he suffered a knee injury in the first game, which was played at the Mandela National Stadium, that had to be treated in order for him to continue the game.

In an interview with ONSport satellite channel the 44-year-old said: “The World Cup is a dream that we need to reach out for, the fans and all the Egyptian sports community have to back us up.

“Every single player in the Egyptian squad has his heart set on the same dream, and by all means this is not an easy time for any of us.

“We will not give up on the World Cup dream, this is something the Egyptian fans want more than anything,” he added.

The victory put Egypt on top of Group E again with nine points, two ahead of second-placed  sit third with five points and  languish at the bottom of the group with only one point.
