Mahlambi nets brace in Al Ahly’s 6-0 friendly win over El Gouna
Egyptian giants Al Ahly have crushed second division club El Gouna 6-0 in a friendly game ahead of the team’s crucial CAF Champions League encounter against Tunisia’s Esperance in the quarterfinal.
Al Ahly initiated their 2017/2018 Egyptian Premier League campaign with a faltering start as they drew against Tala’a El-Gaish 1-1.
Game was played in Al Ahly’s training ground at Mokhtar El-Tetsh Stadium featuring plenty of the the first team’s reserves and the ones with the least playing time, besides others who were rested in El-Gaish tie.
Junior Ajayi opened the score for the Red Devils with a close-range header taking advantage of Saleh Gomaa’s accurate cross. Gomaa was again involved when he sent a through ball to Ahmed Hamoudi who slotted in the second for his team.
Mido Gaber added the third goal after a wonderful play ended with the 25-year-old dribbling past El Gouna goalkeeper and scoring in style. In the second half Amr Barakat made it 4-0 with a great free-kick near the edge of the box.
The game has seen the introduction of Al Ahly’s latest signing Phakamani Mahlambi who managed to make an instant impact, scoring the fifth and sixth for the league title holders.
