Liverpool must forget Man City defeat ahead of Sevilla clash, says Salah
The Egypt international, who joined the Reds in the summer transfer window from Serie A side AS Roma, has settled quickly into life at Anfield. He scored three goals and contributed with assists to play a key role in the Reds’ strong start to the campaign.
The 25-year-old, who was voted Liverpool’s Player of the Month in the opening month of the season, has paid tribute to his new teammates and credited them for helping him adapt quickly.
“I’m very happy to have this start with the team and to help the team win points and win games. I’m very happy to be here, it’s like my family. I’m happy to be [at] the club with these players,” Salah told Liverpool official website.
Following their disappointing defeat to Manchester City on Saturday, Liverpool will be looking to get a positive result when they host Sevilla on Wednesday evening in their first Champions League group game.
Salah, who helped Egypt claim a 1-0 victory over Uganda in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers last week, urged his teammates to forget their 5-0 defeat in the league and to focus on their ‘exciting’ start to the Champions League.
“We have to look forward to the next game, forget that result and play like before.”
“I’m very, very excited to start the Champions League games at Anfield. I would like to win that game,” he added.
