Egypt’s FA discusses Hector Cuper future

Egyptian Football Association () board member revealed the ’s plan for national team’s head coach Hector Cuper.

Zaher emphasised that Cuper will continue leading Egypt’s national team, saying the Argentinian is the perfect man to lead the Pharaohs to the World Cup dream in Russia.

“Cuper isn’t an amateur, he has a contract and we cannot work with him for just a game or two, then ask him to leave,” Zaher said in an interview with Stade Al Hadaf.

“He has a contract that should develop if he reaches the World Cup and the African Cup of Nations and we are confident that we will develop the contract right after we reach these goals.”

“We never had any sort of problem with Cuper, not even one of the EFA board of directors thinks Cuper should leave.”

Several pundits had called for the sacking of the Argentine coach following Egypt’s 1-0 loss against Uganda in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers as well as the Pharaohs’ disappointing performance in their 1-0 victory over the Cranes last week.

Zaher rubbished all the speculations over fights between the board of directors, claiming this is all created by the media: “I only hear these rumours in the media, I never actually saw any problem between any of the board members.”

Let them hope not to meet Uganda again, otherwise, they will be in for more severe rude awakening. 🙂
