Injured Al Ahly trio will be ready for Esperance clash
Al Ahly director of football assured that the team’s injured trio have fully recovered and will be ready for the Esperance Sportive de Tunis match in the CAF Champions League.
The Red Devils will host the Tunisian side in Alexandria on Saturday, 16 September in the first leg of the quarter-final round of the African tournament.
Egypt international Saleh Gomaa was injured after taking part in the Pharaohs’ 1-0 victory over Uganda in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier earlier in September. Meanwhile, Tunisia’s Ali Maaloul suffered an injury in his toenail and Momen Zakaria suffered a fractured toe.
“Maaloul and Zakaria were present in the team’s training session on Monday,” Al Ahly director of football Sayed Abdel-Hafiz told the press.
“Saleh Gomaa completely recovered from his recent injury and played in Gouna’s friendly match. He will return to training sessions during the next few days,” Abdel-Hafiz added.
